I was late for work! And so, here it is, the fastest bento ever. It took about ten seconds to throw it together. Taking the snapshot took longer than building it! I’ve got prepackaged cookies, a leftover twice-baked potato, and some more of those yummy peanuts.

Wow, I’m really glad to be back! I was pretty bleh for awhile. Today’s yummy bento has turkey slices with stuffing on top (no gravy though), an elephant with some honey in it for the peanuts, SpongeBob fruit snacks in the puppy cup, and an oatmeal cookie (other half is on the bottom). It’s so good to be back~!

Bleh, still not doing so well, but I can’t not eat anything forever. So here I go, cinnamon oatmeal, apricots, and a few peanuts. Bleh.

I’ve been really sick for about a week. Hope I feel better soon, and I’ll be back with bentos before you know it.

Or maybe I should have called this one the “I need to buy new cookie cutters bento”… All I have is a little star. But anyway, today’s bento includes mac & cheese with a cheddar super star, some veggie dip and carrots, unsalted peanuts and a bear (painstakingly) filled with a little honey for on top, and a few green m&m’s.
Why a “Warcraft” bento, you ask? Well, I recently re-subscribed to the world’s most addicting and fun RPG, World of Warcraft, and I’ve been playing non stop on my three day weekend (including today). I did, however, abandon my old character in lue of trying something new. If anyone wants to quest with me, I play on server FeatherMoon. I’m a Night Elf Druid, and I’m currently level 21. My character name is Watyr. Lets play together~!

They debeut of my new box, Strawberry Candy~! So in celebration, there are plenty of strawberry goodies inside. First, on the left is my favorite Italian cold pasta with some parmesian cheese sprinkled on top, above that in my cute bear are some smoked peanuts (shelled) for some crunch. Next, I have some fresh strawberries. Inside the chicky bottle (it looks empty, haha) is some sugar for the strawberries. I know, I know, its a sauce bottle, but I believe in Alton Brown’s unitasker mentality. I also have a mini-strawberry cupcake I whipped up (with fresh strawberries in the mix), some baby carrots, and a bunny filled with green peanut m&ms. I love my new box! It makes everything just taste great.

I know, I’ve been suckered into buying bento stuff on e-bay. It’s one of the only places around to find the stuff (besides J-List, etc.). So is that why sellers feel they can jack the prices up so high? Not to mention the crazy shipping prices. Sorry, just ranting a little because I have no money to buy the things I want ^^*.
Sorry, everyone. No bento today again. I’ve not stopped, just minus a camera presently.

Sorry, no bento today. Why, you ask? S-chan took the camera with him to work today *sniff*. So instead, today I have a few speedy bento tips for you today. I’m really slow compared to Biggie over at “Lunch in a Box” though. Be sure to visit her page through my link section.

Speedy Tip #1: Do what you can the night before. The image on the left is from my first posted bento (Neko Neko). The night before I packed it, I cut the kitties out of cheese, made a few dots with the leftover edges of the slice, and pulled some turkey apart so it would fit under the cheese just right. I also embellished the kitty faces. I then wrapped the entire cutting board in saran wrap to keep everything from drying out. It worked like a charm!
Speedy Tip #2: Leftovers are tastey! If you’re making something you especially like to eat, make a few extra (mini-sized, of course). A few great ideas: meatballs from spaghetti night, mini cornbread muffins from chilli night, small stuffed mushrooms from a dinner party, little burrito wraps from taco night, it goes on - you get the idea.
Speedy Tip #3: Have fun making your lunch. You know the saying, “Time flies when you’re having fun!”. It’s true! I love packing bentos. It’s more like a hobby than lunch. While some take longer than others, I’m always enjoying the experience.
